Following a complete foot reconstruction in November 2010 and a year of physical therapy post-surgery, I wasn’t where I wanted to be physically. I started working with Tom once a week in March 2012 at the recommendation of a friend. When we started I still had pain, stiffness and weakness in my foot, and the rest of my body was compensating in weird ways. With Tom’s expert help over the last year and a half, I have much better function in my foot and the pain is nearly gone, and my overall fitness and balance are at a much higher level. Tom always comes with an individualized plan, but he adapts immediately following his first question, “What do I need to know?” if there are issues. He is knowledgeable and intuitive, has a strong work ethic (never misses a session, never late, and uses every minute of the session efficiently), and sets attainable goals. He’s also a genuinely nice person. I couldn’t recommend him more highly!

I met Tom in fall of 2009 at the Spin Doctor Cycle works indoor cycling class.. Being the first class session of these classes, he took the class from the beginner stages to quite a fit group of riders over the winter.. In just 4 months, two to three nights per week.. I've learned so much about my body, resting and recovering and when to push this 47 year old body at the time. Learning what idea heart rate for cycling and what my LT is (Lactate Threshold). Wearing a heart rate monitor (HRM) is one thing, but understanding the readings and what work zone to increase my fitness. Tom could tell if I had a rough day over over training by HR, I soon learned this also.. I think over the 3 months of classes we hardly every repeated a workout, he's well prepare and well organized. He's a world of knowledge of fitness and sports and always willing to tell a good story or two.. I've learned and gained much more then I ever could have on my own, and I use my new knowledge of cycling every-time I ride. Thanks to Coach Tom!.

3 years latter, I'm still taking his classes and still learning more, as he learns new tools or new approaches in fitness he's passing on his new knowledge.

I'm 66 and have been fortunate to use Tom as a personal trainer for about 12 years. I am convinced Tom has made a huge difference to my agility and general health. I was never a runner, but Tom helped me train at age 57 to run a marathon with two of my children. This was a life experience and I could not have done it without Tom. I would recommend Tom without reservation to anyone who wants to improve their overall well being.

I am 48 years old and decided that I wanted to learn to XC ski. Tom was referred to me by a friend as someone that could teach proper XC skiing technique. I have been very satisfied with the coaching that Tom has provided. He is able to break down various techniques into separate components allowing me to practice on these individual components - thus improving overall technique. This has allowed me to make far greater progress than had I pushed forward on my own. He has always been realistic as far as goal setting - while at the same time pushing to get every little bit out of me. He explains training and technique so that they are easy to grasp from a conceptual standpoint and also the logic behind doing these things correctly from a physiological perspective. I have also recently started having Tom help me with a strength training program also.

While I don't use him personally, the person that does is very near and dear to my heart... and nearly 2 1/2 years ago, this person had given up and didn't want to exercise or do anything but sit in a chair and Tom got him to get back into his swimming pool 4-5 times a week and today he's still swimming! Tom is a great motivator, coach, trainer and good guy that I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to improve themselves!

Tom is an excellent coach and personal trainer. He uses just the right balance of encouragement, instruction, humor, and the expectation that you will improve and do your personal best.

Tom has a great ability to motivate people into improving their physical fitness. As a senior citizen, I appreciate that he understands why I need to learn to work with the limitations imposed upon me as I age. He diligently points out gentle but necessary movements and exercises that will enable me to continue to be mobile and independent.

My wife and I have used Body Physics for many years. Tom is a pro and very talented. We use him twice a week each (4 sessions) when we are not traveling. We began using Body Physics after receiving sessions as a gift from long time friends. It was a surprise and a gift that continues to play a central role in our lives. We would recommend Tom without reservation. He is a trainer-coach and multi-dimensional. We consider ourselves fortunate to have Tom in our lives.

Tom is my trainer for 9 years. He is very professional, very dedicate to all the sports and he knows what he does. Me & my husband and now a friend (3 years ago a friend of ours joined too), we do workout every Monday for 1 hour. The workout is always different, very intense but the hour goes very fast. In 2005 we decide to do the Chicago Marathon and Tom did all our training. The result was excellent, and we have to thank you Tom! We could not do it without him! Now I'm training for triathlon and of course Tom is my trainer. I'm very fortune to have Tom as a trainer!

I have been training with Tom from Body Physics for almost 2 years. Tom is a really gifted coach and trainer. Tom is excellent at understanding his clients goals and abilities. He has helped me improve my nordic ski technique significantly. I have been working with him throughout the winter months on snow and then in the off season developing and improving my strength, technique, stamina and race tactics. He works with such a diverse set of clients, competitive elite athletes to children and even those with illnesses such as Parkinson's Disease. What I appreciate most is Tom's practical advice and style. He is one of the most patient people I know. I always walk away from my sessions with Tom proud of what I have accomplished the days I work with him.

 ( Former Chicago Bull)
Tom Dvoratchek from Body Physics has been working with both my wife and me 1 or 2 times a week for 10 years..Tom works very both very efficiently and effectively on pushing the right buttons, in the appropriate manner in order to get the best results. I find Tom always on time...willing to alter his schedule, if possible, for my travel schedule and all business when he arrives. Tom has been great in keeping me in great shape since my retirement from professional sports.

I have been working out with Body Physics for approximately 15 years and still able to play Tennis and Golf and feel very good for 83 years of age. I credit much to Toms twice a week workouts. I would recommend Body Physics very highly.

I've always considered myself a runner. I loved running the mile in grade school and it all continued from there. But never did I consider myself a "marathoner." However, about 18 months ago, I decided I would tackle the dreaded marathon. So I started training and ran my first marathon at Chicago in 2009 in 4 hours and 13 minutes. I thought that was a pretty decent time for what I believed would be my only marathon to check off my bucket list. But something sparked and I wanted to do even better! But how??

Everyone told me that to get faster I would need to do speed workouts. I tried a few on my own, but honestly, wasn't sure what I was doing. A friend I run with said she went to the speed training that the Alpine Runners had set up. I figured I might as well try it. That's when I met Tom! There were days that I really didn't like Tom! A mile warm up, 16 quarters around the track with not much rest and then another mile cool down ... are you nuts??? Well, he wasn't! Tom knows what he is talking about.

When I started speed training my goal was to break 4 hours. That would be a PR of over 7 minutes (I attempted another marathon in May that didn't go as well as I would've liked and ran a 4:07) for me. But as I kept going to speed training week after week, Tom told me I had potential to run faster than that by looking at all kinds of data ... data from previous marathons, races and training runs. He told me I could become a Boston qualifier. I thought he was crazy, but the more I worked with Tom, the more I started to believe him.

So I put myself in Tom's hands and trusted what he told me. I ran the workouts he told me to, listened to all his tips on nutrition, rest, recovery, etc. Well, then the Chicago marathon came this year and the weather was warm to say the least. But as I ran, I heard Tom in the back of my head ... "You trained in much worse heat than this!" So I ran my race and ran a 3:41:38. It was a PR of 26 minutes but it was bittersweet because I missed qualifying for Boston by 39 seconds. Well, that just wasn't acceptable!

After a phone call from a friend, I signed up for the Indianapolis marathon that was a month after Chicago. So my next call was to Tom! I needed his help and needed to know he thought I could still qualify. With the short distance between races, I wasn't sure how to train. Well, over the next month Tom gave me every work out I should be doing, my mileage, my recovery, everything! No detail was left out. And the result ... I ran the Indy marathon in 3:39:42! I officially was a Boston qualifier! And I know it was Tom's knowledge that got me to that start line healthy and mentally ready to tackle the marathon again! I can now hang up my running shoes for a while (until Boston 2012 that is!). Thanks, Tom!!
